Split system air conditioning is a unit which has both an indoor unit, and an outdoor unit. Often the most cost-effective solution while still offering a superior level of climate control.
Split systems can also support multiple indoor units – meaning if you have more than one area of the home or business that requires temperature regulation, these units can all be connected to the same outdoor unit to save on space and price. More indoor units will require an outdoor unit with a higher Kilowatt capacity to ensure there is enough power to run all units at the same time without compromising on achieving your desired temperature.
Individual units can be set to different temperatures, so depending on your space, you have complete control over the temperature in it. Our Globalrez Central Coast experts will assist you in designing the ideal split system setup, and advise you on optimum place, number of units and compressor size for your situation.
You’ll have the option of both inverter or non-inverter aircon and our expert team will gladly advise you on the differences in both function and price, so you can select an air conditioning solution that meets your budget.
Ducted air conditioning is the ultimate in climate control for both the home and business. A ducted unit does not require wall-mounted indoor units, which can take up space and may not suit the desired aesthetic of your space.
By opting for ducted, you’ll have an even higher level of control over the climate of your home or business, with a system that maintains ideal temperature throughout the entire building. While priced higher than split system units, a ducted air con system can cover much larger areas – so if you have a large open-planned living space, or offices then ducted will be a better solution for you.
Ducted air conditioning systems can be split into zones – meaning you’ll have individualised control over the climate in the various areas of your residential or commercial space.
Plus, with seamless integration into your ceiling or floor, you’ll hardly notice them. You can select from a range of vents and grates to blend into the style of your space. The outdoor unit that accompanies a ducted system can be hidden in an area that is not visible, and operate relatively quietly for minimal disruption to your home or work life.
Inverter technology can be applied to both ducted and split system air conditioning systems. If you’re unclear on exactly what ‘inverter’ means, to put it simply, it enables your compressor (outdoor unit) to vary in speed depending on the required power of your air conditioning system.
In doing so, your air conditioning system will run at the optimised power throughout the day. For example, when you first switch on your air conditioning, your compressor may run at a higher kW to reach your desired temperature quickly, and once optimum temperature has been achieved it will automatically reduce the kW usage as the outdoor temperature changes, or as your insulation does its job of keeping your ideal climate in.
Non-inverter air conditioning does not have the ability to self-regulate – meaning it is either running at full power, or turned off. This can cause your energy bills to run higher, as more power is required to power the unit throughout the entire day.
Switching your compressor on and off actually consumes a lot of energy, so it is much preferred for the compressor to scale its own power usage to give you a healthier energy bill at the end of the month. While an inverter unit may cost more upfront initially, it will pay for itself over time in power usage.
